My search for a home began in the summer of 2007, prior to relocating to New Orleans from Austin. I had communicated with Karen Trebes through her RE/MAX website about some possible rentals but a friend in New Orleans had found a place for me. In the summer of 2008 I began my search for a home purchase in New Orleans. A friend recommended a realtor, who after six months was unable to assist me, in fact I felt like I was doing all of the research myself. I remembered Karen and contacted her again through her website on RE/MAX. Karen provided a list of homes in good neighborhoods and within my price range.
Buying a house in the latter part of 2008 and early 2009 was no easy task and I had bizarre encounters with sellers and mortgage companies. I believe any other realtor would have given up on me and walked away. Karen went the extra mile with suggestions on other lending options and assisting me in finding a place to board my three dogs when I had to find temporary housing after the first closing fell through.
I closed on my home in April 2009, but Karen has continued to keep in touch from time to time. I recommend her without any reservation because I know that she truly cares for and about her clients – who are more than just a commission.
